Plot
In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler is assigned to an ill-advised job, with geographical consequences for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced the US and British governments to allow the series to use real-life filming locations, including the US Embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.
The only location that was inaccessible was Winfield House, the real-life home of the American ambassador
Great Britain allowed filming to take place in the Foreign Secretary’s office, a rare honor for any film or screen production, especially an American one. Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential plot in London (11 acres) outside Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming..

The production and acting are top notch throughout the series. The script is smart and interesting, exciting and well acted.
The character development is fairly believable and the actors are not mere caricatures
Again and again, the characters seem one-dimensional at first, but then the story develops, and they are actually more complex than they first appear. My only complaint is that some of the «love» storylines that are introduced are very confusing and disjointed and abrupt.
Someone decided to pump the show up a bit for a soap opera, and it doesn’t improve the result
The professional situations that suddenly turn into «I’m a girl standing in front of a boy» seem to come out of nowhere.
