Narrative
It tells the story of three very different families who are struggling to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style villa that they think will solve all their problems. Yes, the plot is a bit slow to unravel, doesn’t grab you emotionally right away, and there are a lot of side stories.
I can see how it could be off-putting to people (my husband included)
I loved it, I knew it would be worth it, and for me it was. I loved all the side characters, I loved the casting, and the variety of comedic moments and portrayals of emotion from the various actors.
But to me, the two of them had no chemistry whatsoever, and even the kiss scene and happy ending felt forced
The only actors I didn’t like were Lisa and Ray, which was a bummer because I’m actually a huge fan of Lisa and watched the show mainly for her. I didn’t like Lisa’s acting in this show (and Ray’s voice) and I think because of the lack of chemistry the whole series felt like it had no center of gravity.
However, it got better with the appearance of their daughter
And they should have been the ones pulling the story together. Reading other reviews, I realize that other people feel differently about their acting and I respect that, but for me they were not the best possible cast..
